We are looking for a Power BI Semantic Model Expert who will play a key role in designing, building, and managing advanced semantic models for complex business intelligence needs.

In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders to translate intricate business requirements into efficient Power BI data models, integrating various data sources, and ensuring high performance and scalability. As a subject matter expert, you will also mentor team members, conduct workshops, and establish best practices for creating and maintaining semantic models in Power BI.

Task

Design, build, and manage advanced semantic models in Power BI, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and optimized for complex business intelligence needs.
Serve as a subject matter expert on semantic model creation and usage in Power BI, providing guidance and mentorship to team members.
Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate the team on best practices for creating and utilizing semantic models effectively.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand intricate business requirements and translate them into efficient Power BI data models.
Create and optimize complex data models using Power BI's tabular and multidimensional modeling capabilities.
Integrate various data sources such as Kafka (streaming data), Azure Fabrics, and Cloudera on-premise (various databases like Iceberg, Kudu, etc.) into the semantic model for comprehensive reporting.
Develop and maintain advanced DAX formulas for complex calculations, ensuring high performance and accuracy in reporting.
Implement real-time reporting capabilities using streaming data from Kafka and other sources to provide up-to-date insights.
Optimize model performance by managing data relationships, aggregations, and hierarchies for fast and accurate reporting.
Ensure data integrity and consistency across the semantic model, developing best practices for data governance.
Document data models, processes, and best practices for future reference and team training.

Requirements

5+ years of extensive experience with Power BI, specializing in semantic model creation and advanced data modeling techniques.
Proven expertise in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for complex data calculations and transformations.
Strong experience in data modeling, including the creation of star and snowflake schemas, and handling large datasets.
In-depth knowledge of Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and related tools.
Demonstrated experience integrating data sources such as Kafka (streaming data), Azure Fabrics, and Cloudera on-premise (various databases like Iceberg, Kudu, etc.) into Power BI.
Solid understanding of ETL processes and data integration techniques.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of translating complex business requirements into effective data solutions.
Excellent communication and presentation skills for effectively sharing knowledge and best practices with the team.
